How to Survive
a Train Wreck

Everyone faces difficulties. Some will bounce back from the worst of defeats while others face lesser challenges and quit.

The question is … Why?

The real Competition is in your head

When recovering from a setback, the only person you are competing against is yourself. Resilience is a mental predisposition that decides ahead of a challenge to not quit or give up.

Resilient people focus on progress, not perfection. For the perfectionist, three steps forward and two steps back equals … one hundred percent failure. Resilient people believe they are one step ahead because they look at failure differently.

To thrive again, you must win the internal, mental battle.

How We Can Help You Get Back on Track

Failing at something doesn’t make you a failure. People who see failure as final wear it like a tattoo – a permanent reminder of what went wrong. Resilient people see failure like a bruise – painful – but temporary.

Introducing our Chief Navigator

“Did he come here to watch me die?”

Those eight words, scribbled in anger on a piece of paper, were the last words my mother said to me. How do you answer a question like that when I had come there to watch her die?

It was one month past my twenty-sixth birthday. I was living in San Diego and enjoying a fairly comfortable life. That changed within the course of only two weeks.

At twenty-six, I knew so little about surviving train wrecks.

Within a week or so, I was back at work, back in the routine of deadlines, meetings, and responsibilities. I thought that doing the normal things would make life return to normal and quickly.

I was wrong.

What I learned is that everyone faces difficulties. Some people will bounce back from the worst of defeats while others face lesser challenges and quit.

What I’m interested in is why.  That’s why I created “How to Survive a Train Wreck.”

Positive Change Happens

when you correctly define reality, accept what you cannot change, and take responsibility for the areas of life you can influence.

01

Think Differently

If you want to move into the next chapter of your life, you can’t keep re-reading the last one.

02

Fail Better

Everyone makes mistakes. Not everyone learns from them. Resilient people view failure differently.

03

Your Story

No one else can write your story. It’s your life and only you can write the ending. What will it be?

A Good Word About Ken

someone who has walked in your shoes

How to Survive a Train Wreck came about the hard way. These lessons were learned from my mother’s death, shutting down two businesses, and dealing with toxic bosses. Fortunately, not all of life is a setback. The book also draws from nearly thirty years of working with people as a spiritual guide, professor, entrepreneur, counselor, and coach.

Don’t let the presence of a hurdle discourage you from running your race.
